About this opportunity

Under the direction of the Packaging Supervisor, this position is responsible for the preparation and separation of supplied designer files to print ready files.

What you will do

  • Communicate effectively with manager, customers, co-workers, account managers and all pre-production personnel;
  • Load any customer supplied electronic files for output onto the file server and check files for completeness and potential problems, identifying any missing or problematic components to the CSR/Packaging Supervisor;
  • Preflight and preparation of customer supplied print-ready files for release in a timely and efficient manner for Flexo, Litho and Gravure printing;
  • Quality control of digital files and output proofs for approval process, perform quality control checks on final output documents and follow all procedures outlined in the Transcontinental PLM QMS system;
  • Work as part of a team, follow and adhere to Transcontinental’s code of ethics and participate in the Continuous Improvements efforts;

·         Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards.

What you have to offer

  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in packaging prepress environment;
  • Experience with both Macintosh and PC (Windows) computer platforms and all relevant design software;
  • Strong understanding of all printing processes (Flexo, Gravure & Litho printing);
  • Proficient in Esko Suite, Illustrator, Acrobat (Full Creative Suite a plus);
  • Experience with colour correction is preferred and/or the willingness to train
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills;
  • Fast learner, innovative thinker;
